Value: 3.35 / 5 - Pricy after doing comparison shopping with more premium sleeper sofa vendors like Crate & Barrel, Room & Board, West Elm, and American Leather. I paid 20-40% more for American-made for a sleeper that was about a foot shorter than competitor models. We'll see if this trade off was worth it after a few years.
Design: 5/5 - This was an investment piece I plan to keep for more than a few years, so I needed it to be timeless, with a simple, streamlined design that would fit well into my current mid-century aesthetic and any future interior design changes I make. I feel this could blend with most styles well, whether it be rustic / farmhouse, traditional, or coastal. I also liked that you could could choose different leg colors - this is a small detail that makes a big difference. I chose a warm walnut that contrasted nicely with my pale wood floors and would mix well with existing walnut / acorn colored furnishings I had.
Upholstery: 5/5 - Loved the vast optionality when it came to fabric choices, especially the wide color array for velvet. Fabric was reasonability thick ( I ordered samples of velvets from a few different vendors so I could examine the weave and do stain testing). Pile was buttery smooth and very soft to the touch. More importantly, it felt strong enough to hold up to wear and tear from use and cleaning. The cushions were also zippered and I could remove it if needed.
