After looking at and sitting in showroom pieces at some of the usual retail suspects that fill the gap between the blue box place and the design far-beyond-my-reach place -- and not being particularly impressed with comfort or color options -- I started looking at online retailers who had a larger selection of styles, sizes, and fabrics. My husband was happy that we found several sectional sofas on Apt2B that we both liked, that were the right size for our space, that were really reasonably priced. But after the traditional retail experience, he was particularly skeptical about making such a big purchase site unseen. He basically said if we ordered it and it was uncomfortable, he'd roast me about it until I could afford to have it replaced.
I ordered swatches before making a final selection, we decided on a Smoke Lexington 2-Pc Sectional, and we ordered on Black Friday (for the sale). The customer service rep helped us set up a delayed shipment for late January, when our home renovation would be complete. I felt kind of guilty not buying local since there's a business in our town that sells similar customized sofas and sectionals, but I got over it when I realized we'd save several hundred dollars with the better price, free shipping, no sales tax, plus the Black Friday discount.
