Jenson Navy Sectional- Pros & Cons
Just received this sectional. Here's some pros and cons:
Pros:
•Delivery was seamless. Had it delivered through doorway. We moved it into place without issues.
•The leather is a beautiful navy color. It is buttery soft but feels thick enough to be durable.
•The style is modern and classic with clean lines.
•The seat cushions are tufted without buttons. So no buttons will be popping off if something happens. The chaise cushion has a zipper panel underneath where you can access the tufting strings to fix any issues.
Cons:
•It's super lightweight. If you are placing it on anything except carpet you might want to add grippy rubber pads under each leg.
•The chaise section doesn't attach to the sofa. There's no velcro under that end of the cushion either so the chaise base keeps moving and needs readjusting a lot.
•Width of seat is more narrow than it looks. This is also not a deep seating sofa if you’re looking for that. When laying down on the sofa part, feels like we're going to fall off. It's not comfortable for laying down. When sitting on it it feels narrow as well. I'm 5'6" tall- The cushion doesnt reach to behind my knees. Its a more upright sitting position than a relaxed one. The chaise side is more comfortable bc you can spread out more.
• The arms are too high for resting your head on while laying down. They are 28" high from the floor. So while the sofa is 101" long, there's really only 91" for laying down. Fine if you live alone but not for two people relaxing.…

Hi Deb,
Thank you so much for your thorough feedback! We sincerely appreciate it. It definitely sounds like there are some aspects that you are really enjoying and some that aren't quite as great as you would have hoped they would be. We're really sorry to hear that! We actually haven't heard any measurable negative feedback about our Jensen Sofa or Jensen Reversible Chaise Sofa to date so it's good hear about some things that we and other customers might want to consider about it.
That said, there is definitely some hope of things getting a bit better over time! With brand new sofa cushioning, especially cushioning encased in leather, it can take a bit of time to break in. This break in process can take anywhere from a few weeks to a few months depending on use. During the break in process, customers can expect the seat cushions to soften up a bit as well as the back cushions. Once the back cushions soften a bit, the effective seat depth should be a bit deeper. Also, please feel free to do your best to speed up the process by doing what we call "The Sock Samba" (take of your shoes and dance on the cushions in socks). This sounds silly but can really help, like fluffing a pillow but with more of a long term effect.
If you'd like any assistance troubleshooting these challenges you're having, please do feel free to reach out to our support team and share your thoughts- if you describe your issues and send a few supporting images, the team might have some tips to make you feel a lot more 5-star-y about your new sofa. Thanks!
